La Cosa, Italian for "The Thing" is representation of the human need to define and recognize identity and the concept of its rational counterpart and distinct existence as separate from the totality of the universe. It is a visual representation using 20,000 threads of original Italian Jacquard tapestry to reflect the compulsion in verbal communications to name and define "La Cosa" or "Things" in order to organize our reality to give us the possibility to manage it in an effective way. Leoni is an master of this ancient technique and each piece resonantes with texture and transmits the deep emotion of the artists passion in weaving each thread.
